Your visit: what to expect, policies & FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first appointment.
Finding me and parking
The clinic is at 1490 Mission Ridge Drive, Kelowna, BC V1W 3B1, in Kelowna’s Upper Mission. Please park in the driveway rather than on the street; there’s room, and it keeps things easy for the neighbours. Open in Google Maps.
Come to the door at your appointment time rather than early. Since there’s only one client here at a time, there’s nowhere to wait if you arrive well ahead.
Your first visit
When you book, you’ll get an intake form by email. Filling it in beforehand means we can spend your appointment time on the treatment instead of paperwork.
We’ll start with a short conversation about what’s bothering you and what you’d like from the session. You undress to your level of comfort, and you’re draped with a sheet throughout; only the area being worked on is uncovered. Tell me at any point if the pressure needs to change, or if you’d like to stop.
Cancellations
Your appointment time is held for you, so if you need to cancel or reschedule, as much notice as possible really helps.
- 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule without charge
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: a fee of 50% of the session
- Missed appointment with no notice: the full session cost
You can cancel or reschedule through the online booking system, or email me at book@massageonmissionridge.com.
Frequently asked questions
How do I book an appointment?
Book online at massageonmissionridge.noterro.com: choose a service, a session length and a time that suits you. If you’d rather not book online, email book@massageonmissionridge.com.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes. New clients can book online directly, and you’ll receive an intake form by email to fill in before your first visit.
When are you open?
By appointment on weekdays during school hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Tuesday and Friday 9:00 to 11:30 am. The clinic is closed on evenings, weekends and during school breaks.
How far ahead can I book?
Online booking opens up to six weeks ahead. Online bookings need at least a day’s notice, so same-day appointments aren’t available.
How much does a massage cost?
A 30-minute session is $75, 60 minutes is $120 and 90 minutes is $175. GST does not apply.
Can I use my extended health benefits?
Most extended health plans include treatment by a Registered Massage Therapist, but limits, per-visit amounts and referral rules vary from plan to plan, so it’s worth checking yours. You pay at your appointment and submit the official receipt to your insurer.
Do you bill insurance directly?
Not at the moment. You pay at your appointment by e-Transfer or cash, and I give you an official receipt with my registration number to submit for reimbursement.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Not to book with me. Some insurance plans ask for a referral before they reimburse massage therapy, so check with your insurer if you plan to claim.
Where do I park?
Park in the driveway at 1490 Mission Ridge Drive, Kelowna, BC V1W 3B1. There’s room for you, and it keeps things easy for the neighbours. Please arrive at your appointment time rather than early, as there’s no waiting room.
What should I wear?
Whatever is comfortable. For the treatment you undress to your level of comfort and stay draped with a sheet the whole time; only the area being worked on is uncovered.
Can I have a massage while pregnant?
Yes. I treat through all three trimesters, positioned side-lying with a pregnancy pillow and bolsters, or however you’re most comfortable. If your pregnancy is being followed closely for any reason, check with your midwife or doctor before booking.
Can I bring my baby?
Yes. If bringing your baby is what makes the appointment possible, bring them along.
Do you see children or teenagers?
Yes, with a parent or guardian present for the appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule without charge. Less than 24 hours’ notice is charged at 50% of the session, and a missed appointment with no notice is charged in full.
What if I’m unwell?
Please get in touch and we’ll move your appointment. If you’re coming down with something, it’s better to reschedule.
What should I tell you before my appointment?
Let me know about any injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, or conditions you’re being treated for. There’s space for all of it on the intake form.
